This location marks Swig’s continued expansion as they look to enhance Lafayette’s dining scene.

Lafayette Welcomes Swig: First Location in Louisiana

Swig, a popular Utah-based drink shop renowned for popularizing the “dirty soda” trend, is set to open its first Louisiana location in Lafayette. The new store will be established at 4533 Johnston St., Suite 100, within The Forum shopping center, and its soft opening is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The grand opening is planned for August 18, 2025.

During the soft opening, the store will operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. After the grand opening, store hours may be adjusted based on demand and customer feedback.

Menu Highlights and Popular Offerings

Swig is known for its customizable “Dirty Sodas,” which allow customers to mix soda bases with a range of flavor add-ins including syrups, creams, and fruit purees. Some of the most popular drinks on the menu include:

  • Dr Spice: A blend of Dr Pepper, cinnamon, coconut, a cinnamon stick, and half and half.
  • Cinnamon Cider: Made with ginger ale, lemonade, cinnamon, apple, and a cinnamon stick.
  • Autumn Blush: Combines water, mango puree, apple, raspberry, and vanilla cream.

Other enticing drink combinations include Riptide, Naughty & Nice, and Berry Swigmas, aiming to cater to a variety of taste preferences.

Franchise Expansion and Future Plans

The Lafayette location is part of an ongoing expansion for Swig, which currently operates more than 80 locations across the United States. Franchisee Chase Herbert, who already manages Swig locations in Orlando, has also signed a deal for an upcoming Swig venue in Youngsville. This new site will be located at the roundabout of Bonin Road and Milton Avenue, however, construction has not yet started and is projected to open next year.

The Lafayette store will feature both a drive-thru and walk-in component, catering to the needs of busy customers, particularly those visiting the nearby F45 Fitness center. This quick-service model aligns with Swig’s marketing strategy focused on convenience for busy individuals.

The Forum Shopping Center Development

The Forum shopping center aims to become a cultural and retail hub for the region, with a total development investment of $50 million. The arrival of Swig is expected to enhance The Forum’s reputation as a key destination for both local residents and visitors, expanding the array of options available to shoppers in Lafayette.

The overall construction timeline for opening each Swig location typically spans about 3-5 months once it begins. As the soft opening date approaches, anticipation continues to build for what promises to be a refreshing addition to Lafayette’s dining scene.
