New Orleans – A heartfelt community gathering took place to honor the life of Julia Spahr Asprodites, a beloved local figure known for her vivacious spirit and unwavering love for family and friends. The memorial service will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 12:00 PM following a visitation period starting at 10:00 AM.

Julia Spahr Asprodites, born in New Orleans to Thelezia and William Spahr, Sr., leaves behind a legacy that touches many lives. She was the sister of Bill Spahr, Jr., the founder of Spahr’s Seafood Restaurant located in Des Allemands, Louisiana. Julia was joined in marriage to Stephen Asprodites, Jr. until his passing, during which time they created countless cherished memories together.

Julia is survived by her daughters Lin Ann Rosman Liuzza, married to Deacon Joseph, Diane Rosman Sabatier, married to Douglas, and Nicole Asprodites Miller, married to Richard. Her family also includes grandchildren Jesse (with Otilia), Justin, Steven (with Maggie), Claire Sabatier, Jareth Rosman (with Amanda), and Gabrielle Miller. Additionally, she enjoyed the joy of being a great-grandmother to Penelope and Theo Sabatier. Julia also had many nieces and nephews who looked up to her.

Professionally, Julia was a successful sales entrepreneur and worked for numerous years as a receptionist. She was known for her vibrant personality, often described as a social butterfly who effortlessly made friends wherever she went. Her enjoyment of life extended to her passions such as spending time with family, traveling, and actively participating in community events.

Throughout her life, Julia was an avid Mardi Gras reveler and had a zest for dancing. She also looked forward to engaging in games with her friends through her Ladies Poker Club, and she treasured the memories made with her close group of friends, referred to as the Ya-Ya sisters.

Julia’s family expresses deep gratitude for the compassionate care provided by Renada and the dedicated staff at Peristyle’s Old Metairie Gardens II throughout her final days. Their exceptional support was invaluable during what was a challenging time for Julia and her loved ones. Additionally, the family acknowledges the kindness and support offered by Hospice Specialists of Louisiana during her last months.

The interment for Julia will take place at the Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum immediately following the Funeral Mass. The family warmly invites all relatives and friends to join in commemorating Julia’s life and legacy.
