Effective immediately, Newark Airport will see a cap of 56 total movements per hour, broken down into 28 takeoffs and 28 landings. This cap will remain until mid-June when runway construction is anticipated to be completed.
After June 15, the flight cap will be adjusted to allow for 68 flights per hour until October 25, representing a 12% reduction from normal operations. Despite the slight easing, the construction work on Newark’s busiest runway is expected to continue daily until June 15, with additional work on Saturdays through the end of the year.
