In a separate incident earlier that day, a man was fatally shot at 1:44 p.m. at a Tex Mart gas station on Chef Menteur Highway following a verbal dispute that escalated into gunfire. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
In a different neighborhood, a man in the Willow Brook area drove himself to the hospital around 11:03 p.m. after suffering three gunshot wounds during an incident on Peltier Drive.
