Also on July 19, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church is set to host an event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1807 Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way. This gathering will include a panel discussion with school officials, one-on-one counseling opportunities for families, and giveaways that feature Chromebook tablets and uniform vouchers to further support students and their academic needs.

On July 26, McDonogh 35 Senior High School will conduct a drive-thru giveaway from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 4000 Cadillac Street, where more than 1,000 backpacks and 50,000 school supplies will be distributed. This event will also include additional resources for families such as gas cards and haircut vouchers.

Another giveaway on July 26 will occur at 12000 Hayne Blvd in New Orleans East from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event will offer free backpacks along with food, games, and vision/hearing screenings, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Families may also participate in an event at the Joe W. Additionally, a health and wellness fair is scheduled for Friday, August 1, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Treme Recreation Center. This event will provide immunizations, sports physicals, and free haircuts, along with school supplies, food, and games for children aged 6 months to 18 years.

On Saturday, August 9, a community back-to-school celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3815 St. Bernard Ave. This event promises to distribute free laptops, over 2,000 backpacks, and school supplies, accompanied by live entertainment and a resource fair to further engage families.

As part of the ongoing support for families, Entergy New Orleans is partnering for a giveaway on July 26 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Pelican Park, providing free school supplies alongside games and energy-saving tools for households.
