The Ogden Museum of Southern Art reveals the 2025 Louisiana Contemporary exhibition artists, showcasing diverse contemporary artwork from Louisiana. Juried by Daniel S. Palmer, this year’s exhibition features 53 works from 50 artists, selected from over 1,400 submissions. The exhibition runs from August 2, 2025, to January 4, 2026, coinciding with the Fidelity Bank White Linen Night, celebrating local art and culture. The museum continues to support local talent with grants and awards highlighting contributions to the vibrant artistic community in Louisiana.
New Orleans – The Ogden Museum of Southern Art has announced the artists selected for the 2025 Louisiana Contemporary exhibition, which will feature a diverse range of contemporary artwork from across the state. This annual juried exhibition, presented by The Helis Foundation, showcases works that reflect the vibrant artistic community in Louisiana.
For the upcoming exhibition, juried by Daniel S. Palmer, chief curator at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Museum of Art, a total of 53 works by 50 artists have been selected out of 1,421 submissions. This year’s Louisiana Contemporary will be on display at the Ogden Museum from August 2, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The opening coincides with the annual Fidelity Bank White Linen Night, a local celebration of art and culture.
Since its inception in 2012, Louisiana Contemporary has served as a vital platform for Louisiana-based artists, enhancing the visibility of local art practices. Over the past 13 years, more than 600 artists have participated in the exhibition, solidifying its status as a meaningful event on the national arts calendar.

Palmers expressed his admiration for the nearly 1,500 artworks submitted, noting the vibrancy and sense of community that characterized the entries. The Ogden Museum aims to honor four outstanding artists each year with grants and awards, acknowledging their contributions to the local arts scene. The Helis Foundation Art Prize will provide the lead award recipient with an unrestricted grant of $5,000, demonstrating a commitment to supporting local talent.
The awards will be presented at a private reception for the artists on August 1, prior to the public announcement on the opening day of the exhibition. According to Amy Newell, director of exhibitions at the Ogden Museum, 35 of the selected artists will be new to the exhibition, while 15 have participated in previous events. This diversity of experience highlights the evolving nature of artistic expression in the region.
