New Orleans – The Ogden Museum of Southern Art has announced the artists selected for the 2025 Louisiana Contemporary exhibition, which will feature a diverse range of contemporary artwork from across the state. This annual juried exhibition, presented by The Helis Foundation, showcases works that reflect the vibrant artistic community in Louisiana.

For the upcoming exhibition, juried by Daniel S. Palmer, chief curator at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Museum of Art, a total of 53 works by 50 artists have been selected out of 1,421 submissions. This year’s Louisiana Contemporary will be on display at the Ogden Museum from August 2, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The opening coincides with the annual Fidelity Bank White Linen Night, a local celebration of art and culture.

Since its inception in 2012, Louisiana Contemporary has served as a vital platform for Louisiana-based artists, enhancing the visibility of local art practices. Over the past 13 years, more than 600 artists have participated in the exhibition, solidifying its status as a meaningful event on the national arts calendar.

The awards will be presented at a private reception for the artists on August 1, prior to the public announcement on the opening day of the exhibition. According to Amy Newell, director of exhibitions at the Ogden Museum, 35 of the selected artists will be new to the exhibition, while 15 have participated in previous events.
