New Orleans is set to embrace a Mediterranean summer experience with the introduction of a pop-up event named French 75 à Saint-Tropez. Running from July 28 to September 7, this unique dining experience is in collaboration with Moët & Chandon and will be hosted at the French 75 Bar, located at 813 Bienville St., New Orleans, LA 70112.

The event promises a seasonal culinary journey inspired by the sun-kissed French Riviera, featuring a range of exclusive dishes and refreshing beverages, carefully crafted to evoke the relaxed yet chic atmosphere of Saint-Tropez. Guests can indulge in menu highlights which include Lobster Rolls, Tuna Tartare, Gougère au fromage, Soufflé Potatoes, and an assortment of Sorbet Pour Overs with flavors like cucumber lime, watermelon jalapeno, and peach. Additional dishes will also be on offer throughout the pop-up’s duration.

To create the perfect ambiance reflective of the Mediterranean lifestyle, the venue will be adorned with vibrant red umbrellas, plush pillows, and black-and-white artwork reminiscent of Saint-Tropez chic. A special feature of this experience will be collectible, special-edition glasses available for purchase, allowing visitors to take home a piece of their experience.

In addition to the pop-up, the culinary scene in New Orleans will soon see the opening of two new food and beverage projects by restaurateur Emily Shaya and Chef-Partner Alon Shaya, slated for the end of 2025. Chef Shaya is set to launch Ceci! Italian Lounge in Denver and Safta’s Table, a neighborhood all-day Mediterranean cafe, in New Orleans’ Lakeview neighborhood.

Safta’s Table will focus on fresh and sustainable ingredients, creating a comforting dining atmosphere that embodies the spirit of community gatherings. The café plans to highlight sentimental, grandmother-inspired recipes, featuring a menu that accommodates breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, along with catering services for various events. Prepared foods for take-home options will also include hummus, soups, casseroles, and robust sauces.

The menu at Safta’s Table is designed to appeal to a diverse clientele by offering hearty meat selections such as roasted chicken, beef, and lamb, while also featuring lighter fare options like grilled salmon. The establishment aims to cater to families and friends, making it a welcoming space for communal dining.

The upcoming restaurant is strategically placed at 129 Allen Touissant Boulevard, conveniently located near the lakefront in New Orleans. With over 20 years of residence and deep community ties, Emily and Alon Shaya are committed to enriching the local dining experience.

As the Mediterranean diet gains popularity among health-conscious consumers in the United States, Safta’s Table will embrace its principles by emphasizing plant-based foods and healthy fats. Customizable dishes will allow diners to mix and match ingredients according to their preferences. Additionally, there will be options for various casseroles aimed at simplifying meal preparation at home, thereby aligning with current culinary trends that prioritize convenience and health.

With the French 75 à Saint-Tropez pop-up and future openings by Shaya, New Orleans is poised for an enriching taste of Mediterranean culture and cuisine, capturing the essence of the French Riviera in its vibrant dining scene this summer.
