News Summary

Cameron Jordan of the New Orleans Saints is just three games away from becoming the franchise’s all-time leader in games played. Currently at 226 games, he aims to surpass Drew Brees’ record of 228 games during the 2025 NFL season. Despite recent coaching staff upheaval and personal frustrations, Jordan remains committed to the Saints and seeks to solidify his legacy in the league. He has also expressed interest in possibly pursuing a career in professional wrestling after football.

New Orleans – Cameron Jordan, the defensive end for the New Orleans Saints, is on the brink of becoming the franchise’s all-time leader in games played. As of now, Jordan has participated in 226 games for the Saints and is just three games shy of surpassing retired quarterback Drew Brees’ record of 228 games. The 2025 NFL season presents ample opportunity for Jordan to achieve this milestone.

Jordan, considered a cornerstone of the Saints organization, has expressed his desire to continue with the team despite previous offseason speculations regarding his future with the franchise. He aims to further solidify his legacy in the league as he approaches this significant career achievement.

Despite his ambitions to remain with the Saints, Jordan’s previous season was accompanied by frustrations that almost led him to exit the organization. In particular, a game during the 2024 season prompted serious contemplation on his future after he had a significant disagreement with the team’s coaching staff, particularly targeting defensive line coach Todd Grantham. Jordan has labeled Grantham as the “worst D-line coach” he had encountered throughout his NFL career.

Grantham held the role of defensive line coach for the Saints during the 2023 and 2024 seasons before being reassigned to an advisory role amidst coaching staff upheaval. Jordan contended that Grantham’s coaching style was overly complex for the players under his supervision, indicating that Grantham functioned more effectively as a defensive coordinator rather than a position coach.

The Saints concluded the 2024 season with a disappointing 5-12 record, prompting substantial changes to the coaching staff. Kellen Moore has been appointed as the new head coach and is expected to lead the team into a revamped season in 2025.

In light of these coaching changes, Jordan’s performance was notably improved following the adjustments made within the staff. He ended the season with four sacks and has shown resilience and a commitment to elevating his game moving forward.

As a multi-time Pro Bowl participant, with eight selections since entering the league in 2011, Jordan has established himself as a dominant force on the field. However, his current contract with the Saints has been restructured to accommodate the upcoming season, extending only through 2025. There are no agreements in place to keep him with the team beyond that year.

Looking ahead, Jordan has also indicated a potential interest in pursuing a career in professional wrestling with the WWE after his football tenure, highlighting a dream to collaborate with WWE legend Booker T.

As Cameron Jordan gears up for the 2025 NFL season, all eyes will be on him as he looks to achieve the record for games played in franchise history while navigating the challenges of a new coaching regime and addressing previous frustrations from the recent past.
