At its height in 2019, Bed Bath & Beyond boasted over 1,500 stores across North America. However, the company struggled with a prolonged sales slump that ultimately led to its bankruptcy. In June 2023, Overstock.com acquired Bed Bath & Beyond’s intellectual property assets for $21.5 million and promptly rebranded itself.

Following a phase of operating solely online, Bed Bath & Beyond took steps to reestablish its physical presence by opening a new store in Nashville. The company has plans to open five more stores in that market later this year as part of its revival strategy.
